why organic order now contact about us
goodness family

There are so many reasons why we should all eat organic. Especially now that we acknowledge our responsibility in health prevention and the environmental impact of modern day farming techniques. Not to mention the sensational taste and the evidence that organic produce provides us with greater nutrients than conventional produce.

Australian Certified Organic Magazine outlines 20 great reasons to eat organic.

why organic is best

What is "certified organic"?

Certified Organic products are grown and processed without the use of synthetic chemicals. Instead, crop rotation and natural methods of pest and weed control are used. Pesticides, herbicides and artificial fertilisers are prohibited. Soil fertility is again managed through crop rotation and the use of compost, natural mineral products and green manure. GMO's (genetically modified organisms), are also strictly prohibited.
Certified Organic means that the business providing the fresh produce has gone through an Organic certification process. Meaning they have been audited on their business methods to ensure they comply with standards for organic farming and processing. Currently there is no National standard by which these organisations are obliged to follow. However in 2008, a draft was released by Standards Australia which will provide a benchmark for the minimum requirements met before produce can be labelled "certified organic". To ensure the certifying company meets minimum requirements you can access the organisations standards via their websites.

How can I ensure what I am eating really is "certified organic"

Certified organic produce will display the symbol of the organisation that provided certification, along with a number and batch code or system that can be traced by the specific organisation to the point of origin. This ensures that the provider is genuinely certified and has gone through and passed the stringent auditing process. Providers of certified organic produce are subject to annual audits as well as spot checks (unannounced audits).
We ensure that all our produce has been certified. These certifying companies are committed to meeting and exceeding internationally recognised standards. Some of the common companies and their logos to look for are...

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I don't like the combination of fruit and vegetables you deliver to me?

We do our best to provide not only quality produce, but a variety of fruit and veg. We understand that not everyones needs are the same and that certainly tastes vary. If you have any specific dislikes, please ensure you alert us of this during your ordering and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Remember, because organic produce is grown naturally we only source what is in season.

What if my order doesn't last one week?

We have attempted to give guidelines as to how long an average order should last to help with your selection, but of course everyone is different. If you go through your box quickly, be sure to order a larger size the following week. Alternatively, please feel free to contact us to discuss your needs.

What if my order is too much for my household?

If your eyes are bigger than your stomach, never fear! Because our produce is fresh from the grower on day of delivery, you will find it will last much longer than the conventional fruit and veg that you may be used to. Most of our produce will last refridgerated for up to two weeks, if stored correctly.

Do I have to place an order every week?

No, make it easy for yourself and join our automated order service, its so easy. Once you join, you will only need to place an order again if your needs change. The produce will arrive magically at your door on Mondays! What an easy way to shop for busy people!

What if I don't know how to use the fruit and vegetables you provide?

The exciting part about ordering from us is that you never know exactly what surprises you may get. We will be providing you with seasonally fresh fruit and veg and every now and then there may be something you are unfamiliar with. Don't worry. We will be sending out a recipe or an information sheet with every order. Especially if there is something new and exciting on offer. These will then be archived on our webiste for easy access.

Can I cancel an order?

You may cancel an order with no charges incurred, as long as it is done before end of business on the Friday prior to delivery. If you cancel an order or automated service after this time the following week will be charged at your previous order rate.

What happens if I don't have my order submitted on time?

If you do not have your order submitted on time, unfortunately we will be unable to supply you with an order that week. We highly reccomend joining our automated order service. That way you will never have to be dissapointed in missing out on the freshest certified organic produce available in the Shire.

What if something is not available in organics one week, will you substitute it with conventional produce?

Absolutely not! We pride ourselves on always supplying you with certified organic produce. If something is not available one week, then we will substitute it, but with another item of high quality certified organic produce.

Can I place an order over the phone instead of over the internet?

Absolutely. If you wish to place a phone order, please contact Louise or Emma on 0458 682 005 before end of business on Friday and we will be happy to take your order for you.

How do I give feedback?

We send a feedback form in your first delivered box, as we understand the benefit of your input and suggestions. We can always be contacted via our enquiy form. And of course you are always more than welcome to contact us by phone to offer any suggestions. We value your custom and all feedback is taken seriously.
