Up at 4, to bring it fresh to your door!

Hi everyone,

We thought it might be nice for you to see us in action! We have taken a few photos of us at the markets, checking all the produce we have ordered and seeing what other great fresh produce is available on the day that we can add to your boxes. As you can see, it's still dark. We are up at 4am to head to the markets so we can see the produce all laid out as it comes in from the growers. It takes us quite a while to go through all the produce to make sure it's up to scratch and to ensure we have ordered just the right amount. As you can see we enlist the help of some great characters that work at the markets. These guys have already been working for hours and as we walk in, we are instantly awake and in the action. There is a great community feel to the markets and amongst the people who go there to source organic produce. We love being a part of this community, so thanks. We hope you have enjoyed this little insight into what we are doing while you are all still wrapped up and cozy in bed!!

Shire Girls Shine

Shire Organics was recently featured in Shine Magazine!

Emma and Louise are the proud owners of Shire Organics, a unique business based in the Sutherland Shire providing an organic fruit and vegetable delivery service; free of chemicals, pesticides and from being genetically modified. Being “Shire Girls” who come from a nursing background, Emma and Louise met 5 years ago whilst working together. Coming from a health background, they were constantly reminded how important it is to look after our bodies and that eating organic produce goes a long way towards reducing risk factors associated with many illnesses that are increasing in today’s society.

They explain where their business idea grew from: “We are both passionate about ‘healthy living’ and want to be involved in encouraging everyone to go organic and green for the health of yourself and your loved ones and for the health and ustainability of our environment. We can all do our bit to help save our planet.”

As mothers and consumers, they were acutely aware that there are so many environmental factors impacting on our health including the food we eat. Emma and Louise were also fed up with large supermarkets supplying consumers with substandard produce, and could not believe how difficult it was to access organic produce in The Shire!

Therefore, the business Shire Organics was born. A complete delivery service with the personal guarantee that you and your family are eating the healthiest, freshest fruit and vegetables without having to pay “organic” prices and without using your valuable time to travel to source quality organic produce. And they insist that once you’ve tasted the difference you’ll never go back to supermarket fruit and vegetables! Emma and Louise encourage all mothers to follow their dreams if they too have a business idea. When asked how the business has impacted on their family lives, they answered: “ It’s great to have supportive husbands that help out with family life, and the kids are so enthusiastic and proud of our new business.” From the service they provide to the products they sell, Shire Organics is every bit a family affair!
